There are many ways to
save and display your matchcovers. Most collectors choose to put their
matchcovers into divided plastic protectors and then into an album,
where they are available for viewing and safe from too much handling.
Other collectors arrange the matchcovers or matchboxes in frames, cover
with plexi-glass to display on walls.
There are several ways to flatten your matchcovers successfully. There
is nothing better that a bench vise! In lieu of that you can place
several matchcovers together, cover with cardboard and fasten with rubber
bands, after a few days they should be flat. I know some collectors who
even iron them, but with protective paper towels on either side! Be
careful with this.
If you live in a humid area, protecting your matchcovers correctly is
imperative. You don't want to open an album you've stored in the garage
to find mildew has destroyed your matchcovers. Store them in an air
conditioned environment. You may even want to rent a small storage unit
(after you get up to a million or so!)
Just be sure keep Damp-Proof bags (crystals that soak up moisture)
hanging in the units for extra protection.

These displays are always conversation starters when you
have guests. |
Of course we all like to show off our
matches and there's not better time than at our meetings and
conventions. RMS has a new section called
Dazzling
Displays. They show off the artistry and the great matches of
our collectors!
